This is so important for children with sensory impairment. It's also really important for other children to learn, to be aware and to appreciate diversity and humanity in others. My child has learned a lot of respect, understanding and interest by being in a class with a child with sight loss. It's enriched his experience of others.

I am apalled at the news that CCC may so drastically re-organise the County Sensory Service and that children with sight and hearing loss may lose the incredibly valuable and very special support service. It just seems so sad and wrong that these children, battling with problems beyond most people's understanding , should suffer the loss of this essential and valuable facility in their lives. Please think again.

the continuing cuts to vital services for groups with special needs in our county is a cause for deep concern. Our schools are still among the best in the country but provisions need to be improved, not cut, and high quality teaching and leaning must continue to be available to ALL children. This requires ringfencing specialist services such as the Sensory Service.

The loss of this service will do incalculable damage to children whose future relies on such special carers. Perhaps beginning with the staff at the County Council, and followed by all in Westminster, we could have a 20% salary cut, with a 5% cut to all Civil Service salaries. I'm sure that will free up sufficient funds to keep this service going.

When will children with a visual or hearing impairment get the support they need to achieve in life and in school. Don't ruin their lives by messing around with the little support they do get. These children need and deserve the opportunities to build a future for themselves. They will only get this by getting the support they need.

Good luck
