California's Early Childhood Education Title 5 programs help set the foundation for children's academic success. This program is for parents who work and/or attend school/job training. These programs are for childcare with a set curriculum. It is not just a day care or a welfare program.These programs have a well structured curriculum in areas of math, science, language arts, music and art. These Child Development Centers (CDC) are for working parents, parents working to obtain job training and parents continuing their education. Governor Brown has proposed to cut 60,000 childcare slots across California. He is proposing that the money allocated for these slots be re-allocated to welfare programs. These cuts will not only effect 60,000 children and their parents but also the loss of jobs of the staff of these programs. I have emailed John A. Perez, Speaker of the Assembly District 46, asking for his support.
