My children grew up with the clown as their landmark. How sad it would be to lose yet another piece of our local history.

One of the great characters of NJ, something everyone knows about and would hate to see go. Seen in Clerks, so no longer just a NJ icon, but a movie icon. It's as much as a part of NJ as tilli, asbury park, Danny Devito, the list goes on. Needless to say if the clown goes I will never step foot around that area again and what's built in its place I won't even look at. I will spread the story of the great clown, so everyone knows what had to be stomped to the ground for just yet another housing complex or shopping center, but in all honesty this clown is an important part of NJ and of many people's lives and it would be tragic if it had to go, to say the very least

I spent my childhood in New Jersey, and now when I come to visit my family and friends, Calico always brings a smile and memories of home. Save Calico!

Driving down 35 wouldn't be the same without this goofball staring everyone down. One of the most charming, singular parts of this town: it needs to stay.

Please, we need to have respect for our cultural history. Even if you think it's ugly, it's a part of history and deserves to be preserved.

I couldn't imagine Middletown without this clown. He is apart of Middletown as much as the people. He is an icon, one that generations have had the pleasure of viewing and being creeper out by.

Grew up in this area and as a kid I loved that clown and as an adult still talk about it as a fixture of Middletown!

save the clown!! If you can't keep it there, at least preserve it and put it somewhere else. It's such a landmark for those of us who were born and raised in this area :)

Restore it, make it clean and new again, and keep it where it is.

Middletown doesn't care about the road work on West Front street every other week but they care about this? Go Clown GO!

Clown reminds me of when I was little and lived in Middletown. I passed him almost everyday in the car with my parents.
