Born and raised in Belford, I tell everybody who visits Middletown to take a picture with the Evil Clown! Please keep this small, insignificant piece of history for us true locals to remember!

Sometimes you gotta just find a way keep the things that are different or old or historical or just plain "weird" in a town, or the town just loses it's character and becomes indistinguishable from every other bland bland, condo-filled swatch of property.

It has been in Middletown for a great deal of time, and it deserves many more years.

This cannot go away. Way to precise to the town to lose this one icon that Middletown has.

I can remember this icon from when I was a kid. It was right across from Two Guys. Did the Clown advertise for the Liquor store or the Food Town? Hope it will be restored and hopefully displayed for all to see. We need to preserve history and that is part of it.

Someone must find an appropriate home for Calico!! He is a landmark! Why not clean him up and leave him where he is as the entrance to the new development!!

I will do my Best to make sure these condos and mall aren't built!!! The people that live right across from the proposed site do not want it nor does the wildlife!!

This is my favorite liquor store because of the weird clown. We come from freehold to shop in that liquor store and see the weird clown.

I remember this clown from when I was very little. Nothing else is the same, with all the strip malls, condos, gas stations, etc. Save the clown!

I certainly do remember this clown as I worked at the Food Circus in the late 50s.
