MODOT just confirmed they are rerouting the project and the farm is finally safe. I honestly cannot wrap my head around the fact that this is over because of all of you. You did this and I am just so incredibly grateful that our history stays intact.

Borgman's Dairy Farm is an 85 year old Grade A, Farmstead Goat Dairy. Its owner, Dr. Janet Smith, is the 3rd generation owner/operator.
Borgman's Dairy was originally located in Blue Springs Missouri but had to move to Holden when MODOT acquired their farm in the 1970s through eminent domain. That was a very painful experience for the family.
Today, Borgman's Dairy is once again threatened by a MODOT project. Which can be found online for review.
We are asking people to sign our petition to save our dairy. There is plenty of vacant land to complete this project--yet MODOT wants to destroy our farm instead.
Please sign this petition asking MODOT to reroute this project around our farm.

I am truly overwhelmed that 250 people have chosen to speak up for the farm. I never imagined this many folks would care about our small dairy and I am so grateful to every one of you for proving me wrong.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to defend the farm alongside me. We are nearly at one hundred names and I know this momentum belongs entirely to your kindness.

Enough! This family was uprooted from their first farm. Don't do it again! There are other options.
Please find another route. Leave this family farm with livestock alone. This is a small business serving their product. Moving an animal operation is very difficult, find other land to use that does not have animals to reorganize.
Borgman used to sell their wonderful products at a grocery store I used to work for. Recently, they've been selling their locally made goat cheese at the Overland Park Farmers Market. Please consider this family's business and livelihood so they may continue to provide quality dairy products for the community.
Why would you take the land from a small business like Borgman's Farmstead Dairy that have been working hard for more than 5o years to provide people good quality products to the community. This does not make sense. Please re-route your project and leave this business alone.
I am ashamed the State of Missouri would treat one of their long term citizens in this manner. A woman who is a veteran, a farmer and a business owner.
MODOT has been uncooperative and unreasonable in their dealings with the Dairy. Please rectify the situation by giving careful consideration to the hardships created for this Farm Business. .

Save Borgman's Dairy!!! Having been a victim of imminent domain myself (took my childhood home) , there has to be another way.
