Save the local butchers from greedy corporate business. Low Fell does not need another exownsive supermarket

Totally agree that we need to save local businesses. This butcher is extremely popular within the local community. Think of the impact on all the other businesses in the immediate area. Not everyone wants to shop at the major supermarkets.

Hunters and the other local stores form a vital part of the community. Expanding the Nisa stores destroys jobs in the local economy and reduces choice

This thriving business is the hub of the local shops. Between the butchers, baker, green grocer and (ironically) the Nisa is a convincing and friendly community. If Nisa get their wish and force out the butchers, this reciprocal relationship can only suffer, affect the wider community. These shops allow people to shop locally, we need this.

The 'lip service' from Nisa to enable Bob to have an 'in-store' butchers in merely a deli counter. This would be a huge loss to the local community and traders if the plans are successful. Boycot Nisa!!

Can't believe that one greedy man can cause so much grief in such a short space if time. He suggested in the Chronicle article that Kells Lane was on its backside until he opened his shop 15 years ago! I think he's deluded. It's the footfall from Bob's shop that's keeping him going not the other way around. As for creating 10 jobs, if Hunters can't relocate they'll be losing 5 full time and 3 part time jobs just in store. Might even have a knock on effect with their suppliers. I feel sick at the thought of losing a shop that is central to the community of Low Fell.

As a long-standing vegetarian and therefore not a fan or supporter of butchers; even I can see the importance of long standing family run local business to the community over 'local' chain stores operating under a multi-billion pound corporate umbrella. I hope that the council and landlord will support the local community as a whole, rather than increasing the size and profits of one store.

As a born and bred native of Low Fell I would be devastated to see any more of the small family run shops disappear. We need the variety not larger stores!
