BEXHILL ABC is a voluntary run organization, affiliated to the ABA. Our prime object of this boxing club is to give youngsters of both sexes,the opportunity to learn the basic skills of this sport,and to keep them fit and healthy,which in return seems to give the members a better self esteem,self discipline and self confidence as well as respect for others.....We have been based at PEBSHAM COMMUNITY CENTRE for nearly 2years now and as a new club have achieved so much in a short space of time. When I say that,i mean in the way of purchasing new equipment,affiliation fees,insurance fees,club kits,a full size boxing ring and a list of other fees that goes on and on.....On the competitive side we have 2 lads entering THE HARINGEY CUP,which is a reknown amateur competition of which many countries from around Europe take part in,so you see our 2 lads are not only representing SOUTH EAST ENGLAND..EAST SUSSEX..but will be fighting for good old BEXHILL-ON-SEA,which im sure you will agree,isnt bad going for our 1st active season.. We currently have 70 members on our books,of which boxing has virtually become part of their lives...having said this,brings me to the reason I started this group... PEBSHAM COMMUNITY CENTRE have given the boxing club notice to vacate the premises on 16th of JUNE...With no formal warning or any reason for terminating our agreement...We feel we have been unfairly dismissed and intend to fight this to the end...We have started a petition for this cause and would be very grateful if YOU the members of the public,would sign our forms and show us your support for your local Boxing club. Because with all of us united we can get the eviction overturned as it is a COMMUNITY CENTRE that should cater for the youth of the community and others..NOT for a one man committee to decide the lives and destinys of 70 odd families... BOXING CAN CHANGE LIVES FOR THE BETTER AND SAVES MANY YOUNGSTERS FROM GOING DOWN THE WRONG PATH IN LIFE......When we approach you at Pebsham....Glyne Gap.....,Bexhill Town....,Sidley..or Little Common please please sign our petition...as NUMBERS will pull us through this..
