I have spent this week drafting formal inquiries to the Department of Justice regarding the proposed closure timeline. These documents outline the economic impact on the local legal sector and will be delivered to the key decision makers by the end of the week.

The growth in interest confirms that maintaining local access to justice is a priority for this community. I have contacted the regional judiciary office to schedule a formal meeting regarding the future of the courthouse.

The court is a vital resource in the local area and it is of great concern that the court is due for closure. It is also of great concern that so much public money has recently been expended on refurbishing the courthouse to make it accessible and fit for purpose and now the building is due for closure! Has the decision making been properly thought through in light of this?
Dealing with Legal problems is hard enough without having to travel to places that are inaccessible and unfamiliar

Ballymena needs its court. Taking it away is just madness and will make everything way more difficult for honest folks around here. Just keep it open.
