Akimel is not just a school, it is the heart of our community. It has shaped friendships, values, and dreams that extend far beyond the classroom. Closing it would mean tearing apart a support system and a safe place where students have grown academically and personally.

We live in Ahwatukee and my 4th grader is excited to go to Akimel for middle school. Teachers and staff are amazing and we were expecting our Lagos kids to move up to Akimel!!!

Don't close Akimel please it would be so bad and all the teachers there would lose their jobs and all the kids would have to go to different schools and overall and it's just not a good decision and everybody adores the school and loves the environment there and honestly, I just don't think it's a good idea for the school and the others to close.

Akimel A-al is a neighborhood middle school. Alternative public middle schools are much further away making daily transit much more difficult. Would there be sufficient room in the remaining schools? I oppose the idea of closing Akimel A-al.
