Abington Campsite has been in scout ownership since 1933 and generations of young people have enjoyed many events here. The local scouting committeehave sought (against the parish council's wishes) and recived planning permission to redevelop part of the site for housing. To dothis it would involve selling the site which would lose a great space for generations to come.
The climb toward one thousand signatures is grueling but we are holding steady. We need a final burst of energy to get these numbers up before the committee reviews the site sale again.

My godfather contributed much to purchase the site. After purchase I frequently went with him to plant trees, deepen the pool at the bottom of the field and develop the facility. I often camped there with fellow scouts and know that such a great facility within reach of Cambtidge and many villages is irreplaceable.Money is no alternative.

Save it - once sold its gone forever. And whilst your at is sack all those scouters who were involved with selling it. They do not deserver to wear the uniform and have failed to keep the basic scout law and promise. Baden would turn in his grave.

Ridiculous decision. We spent so many weekends there growing up and now they want to ruin it for some houses that nobody local even needs. Stop this madness.

My son had his first night under canvas at abington. Its a special place for local kids and should stay that way. Please rethink this.

Cant believe this is even being considered. Once the green space is gone its gone for good. Leave it alone.
