On November 12, 2010 I had a seizure from the top of my basement stairs resulting in me falling backwards down the stairs to the floor. I ended up with a broken left elbow, shattered right wrist and a dislocated shoulder. After getting my casts then splints off I needed to start Occupational Therapy. I received a list from my doctors office with I believe there were 6 or 8 names on it. Knowing I could not drive myself to my appointments I called a couple of names from the list and asked if they had any "pick-up" service. After a couple of calls I was getting frustrated. Then I called Saint Joseph's and they informed me of a van that will come to my home, pick me up for my appointment then bring me home when it was done. That van service has saved me because without it I would not have been able to go to my therapy and get better. I know my case it not an isolated one. There are MANY people that rely on that service to be able to get to their much needed appointments. While on the van I get to speak to many diferent people. I have learned there is a women who has taken this van for 12 years for her appointments and without it she does not know how she will get to them. On April 1, 2011 they plan on stopping this service!! PLEASE reconsider your decision in regards to discontinuing the "van service".

i work with people who rely on this service every single day. they would lose all access to medical care if this ends.
