The community of Colonial Woods Drive and Nance Road in West Orange, NJ seek to petition the local and state government to build a sound wall between 280 East and the backyards of Colonial Woods Drive and Nance Road. This sound wall will create a barrier from the noise pollution of 280 East and shield our community from the terrors of home invasions and robberies that our community has been plagued with since 2022.

Enough is enough. Its not just the noise its the fact that anyone can just walk right off the highway into our yards. Fix this.
The noise from 280 is getting out of hand and I cant even let my dog out back anymore without worrying about who is watching us. We really need this barrier built ASAP.
Petition Signed Comments: Reasons for Highway Barrier 1. Noise pollution/Vehicle Emissions on 280 East/West 2. Turkeys and Deers are killed when crossing from 280 East to 280 West 3. illegal pathways from the 280 East to our backyard.
This would help minimize a major safety concern for families within our community.
Please, we need help. Our development does not feel safe with all these invasions, thefts and pollution. God bless
