We the undersigned respectfully demand the Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township reexamine the formerly approved design of the walking path along McIntosh Road, specifically the section that converges with the road from Paxton Creek to 4001 McIntosh Road. This section of the walking path has no barrier of protection from traffic and is a major safety concern to all those who use it. There is increased concern since this portion of the path is on a steep hill and goes around a curve which places pedestrians in a blind spot to traffic. We request a guardrail, high curb, fence, rumble strips, and/or other safety device be installed as soon as possible.

At least a warning sign should be put at the bottom of the hill before approaching the curve that there is a cross street and pedestrian traffic. ALSO, the speed limit on McIntosh road should be reduced to 25MPH. The environment has changed from a pass through road to a community road. There are school bus stops and more pedestrian traffic now that homes in Stray Winds Farms is rapidly growing. All other roads in this area are 25MPH including Crum's Mill and Paxton Church roads.

I use this path regularly and have had many uncomfortable experiences with cars coming much too close to me. They are over the line in the pedestrian area. But there is no indication for motorists that it is intended as a footpath. It appears to be a wide shoulder. And being on a curve cars tend to cut in close. Even signs or zebra stripes would help driver awareness.

Our family is incredibly concerned about the safety of the path. It should not take someone losing their life to fix the problem areas. Let's be proactive and make this community a better place for all. Thank you.

Also, the intersection of McIntosh and Colonial Road needs to be addressed for safety. Trees branches need to be cut back and the safety of traffic coming in/out of this intersection. With the addition of homes in our developments, increases the flow of traffic addressing this hazardous intersection.
