Petition for City of Surrey to make crossing 64th Avenue at 180th Street Safe for Pedestrians Beginning in February of 2007, concerned citizens have sought action by the City of Surrey to make crossing 64th Avenue at 180th Street safe for both students attending Lord Tweedsmuir and residents living North of 64th Avenue who wish to crosss at this unmarked crossing. Response by the City to date has not addressed the safety of pedestrians. We, the undersigned, are concerned parents, students and citizens who urge our leaders to act NOW to provide the funding, personnel and equipment necessary to make a safe and direct crossing for pedestrians on 64th Avenue leading to Lord Tweedsmuir Highschool. We ask that you put pedestrian safety first and traffic flow second, providing not only a safe crossing, but safe access to the crossing on both sides of 64th Avenue. This Petition created October 2009 and is intended to be presented to Surrey City Council. Must be returned by November 1, 2009.
