Dear District Attorney Seth Williams and Mayor Michael Nutter,
Similar to the new law in Arizona, right here in Philadelphia, there is close collaboration between the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Public safety comes from good community policing, which relies on trust.
But when local police collaborate with federal immigration agents, trust is
replaced with fear.
We, the undersigned, call on you to END all collaboration between the police and ICE in Philadelphia. We are not Arizona!

I have been hearing from so many of you who are terrified to call the police for help because of this dangerous partnership. My own neighbors are living in constant anxiety and we cannot allow this forced collaboration to destroy the safety of our homes.

Seeing this momentum grow reminds me of the countless families across Philadelphia who live in constant fear of being separated. It is clear that our neighbors believe true safety comes from trust rather than collaboration with federal agents.

Living in fear of police is not what community policing is all about. People wont report crimes if they are scared of ice showing up.
Exactly. Trust is everything. If the community cant trust the pdd then the whole system fails.
This is ridiculous. PHILLY IS BETTER THAN ARIZONA. Stop wasting tax dollars on this stuff.
End this collaboration now. Philly belongs to everyone.
We need to focus on real crime in this city not turning our cops into border agents.
