We are concerned Rancho Mission Viejo residents that want to ensure any new cell towers installed on The Ranch are sited a safe distance away from existing or planned homes and schools.
While we acknowledge the need for adequate cell coverage for RMV residents, the number of towers should not be excessive (i.e., more than the minimum number needed for appropriate coverage). This group questions whether seven towers are needed to cover Esencia. In all cases, towers should be placed a safe distance from our families.
Outdated FCC guidelines focus only on thermal heating risks from radio frequencies (RF) but dozens of more recent studies, and collections of scientists and countries around the world, recognize the potential health risks of living too close to a cell tower (often defined as closer than 300-400 meters). Additionally, we are concerned about the potential use of new and controversial 5G technology on these towers.
We are fortunate to live in a community with ample open space around us and we implore the Rancho Mission Viejo Corporation (as Master Developer) and RMV Telecom and Verizon (as the telecom installers) to move the proposed towers farther away from existing homes and schools.

I work in the telecom industry and I know about the risks and implications of having a cell tower near you. I do not want to take the risk with my family. I choose good health over cell coverage!
I just moved into the Canopy neighborhood and we have at least 2 little ones that will be joining the school here. I want to feel comfortable and safe sending my kids to school and not worrying about the effects this tower would have on their health.
We are located at 26 Ambito Street, Rancho Mission Viejo, CA 92694. And have lived here for (18) months in close proximity to the Hill Top Club: A proposed RMV cell tower there will jeapardize the health & safety of residents nearby the tower. Our family & Grandchildren will be sick from it!
The cell towers should have been installed like all the other infrastructure before any homes were sold so potential homeowners could make educated decisions about health risks and property values / views, etc. The proposed locations are way too close to homes and schools and we’re asking that they be moved to safer distances.
The health risks are clear regarding cell towers that are excessive or not properly placed away from residences. We would rather be on the safe side than experience the health issues later which may not be able to be reversed!
While I do agree that the area requires better coverage, it should not be at the cost of the safety of the community. Please consider relocating to unoccupied areas.
I greatly oppose the 5g cell towers. The health risk cannot be ignored.

This tower is devestating to our community. So close to my daughters school and playground. We need this moved. RMV has acres of open land, why does this need to be feet from homes and our neighborhood school? I am Concerned for the safety of our children.
