Dear Ryerson Parents & Students,
As you may have heard, the TVDSB proposes to alter Ryerson School's Holding Zones. On April 8th our group of parents is going to ask TVDSB Trustees to give those students in our current holding zones the option to remain at Ryerson until graduation. We feel that having this choice will best honour the wishes of the families involved in the proposed move and that it will help preserve Ryerson's valuable resources - as teacher & staff numbers reflect student enrollment. We are concerned about the fluctuating growth of our current and future holding zone communities. We would like to see our school and that of Masonville equitably manage the growth of the Sunningdale community, while leaving neither school with an underpopulation of students.
If you support asking our TVDSB Trustees to offer current holding zone students the option of staying at Ryerson until graduation please consider adding your name to our petition.

The momentum behind this petition highlights the deep concern our community holds for the stability of our students. This collective action provides a clear mandate as we prepare to present our case to the board.

The board needs to listen to the parents on this one. Disrupting the school population is a bad move for everyone involved.
KEEP RYERSON AS IS!! No reason to mess with the kids schooling like this.
My kids have made so many friends at Ryerson. Moving them now just feels wrong when they have already settled in so well.
Both Masonville and Ryerson are capable of hosting a population that is offered a choice. It harms no one to offer the option, in fact the choice provides support and continuity that will enhance social and academic reach for any student!
De-populating one school to prop up another is folly. Especially when the school being potentially undermined is as good as Ryerson. I think parents of children at Ryerson should consider their options very carefully.
