In an effort to provide a safe atmosphere for the 100's of trick-or-treaters on Ryder Road, we the undersigned agree to close Ryder Road east at Manhasset Woods Road through the dead end to the west, from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Saturday, October 31st. The road closure would be for non-resident traffic on Ryder Road. The Road closure will not be publized as we do not want to draw additional trick-or-treaters but rather create a safe environment to those who already celebrate Halloween on Ryder Road. Updates

October 14, 2009

I have been reviewing the addresses and comments provided by our neighbors. This feedback reinforces the consensus that traffic safety remains a primary concern for our families during the holiday. I am currently preparing the documentation to present our proposal to the local traffic safety board.

October 14, 2009

The level of support for this proposal indicates that our neighbors truly value a secure environment for our children. This momentum confirms that our collective goal of protecting the street during the festivities is a priority for the entire community.

Ryder Rd, too many cars flying through here when the kids are out. Just shut it down for a few hours it makes sense

I agree - it’s too important to the kids and it needs to be safe
