I support adding additional schools to the boathouse

I support expanding access to crew to additional schools.

Please expand the Oxford Boathouse. Rowing is the ultimate form of exercise. Crews need this to be done. It’ll support our young people in developing all areas and it will add to the community’s appeal and investment in it’s self and the current/future residents of this community.

Dear Board of Supervisors, Rowing here Prince William County has been a huge part of our family for over 25 years. First our kids rowed in high school introducing my wife and I to rowing, and now my wife and I have been rowing for 20 years ourselves. As we have traveled and completed all over the country, we have come to realize what’s fantastic place the Occoquan is for rowing. Many rowers from different parts of the country tell us the same. However Oxford Boathouse is our only facility in Prince William County for rowing. In recent years, there have been some improvements, and those are much appreciated. But the number of county residents trying to row, and the pent up demand for more rowers absolutely justifies that a new boathouse be built for Prince William. Thank you

The sport has way outgrown the current facilities and they are in a desperate need for a bigger boat house.

I row with Colgan high school and PWC and believe that a new facility would alleviate crowding and resulting safety issues.

I learned to row with PWRC after moving to PWC, significantly enhancing my lifestyle. My son also joined Colgan High School’s crew team and Prince William Crew. Our family truly benefits from support to rowing facilities.

Any positive activities that support our youth should be a top priority.

A functional boathouse is so important. This is a sport people can do in school and far into retirement!

I support students and I want them to have every opportunity possible!
