We need a library more than developers need more subdivisions

As a 2nd grade teacher in Alpine School District, I encourage students to attend the library on a weekly basis. I teach at a title 1 school where most students in my classroom do not have computers, internet, or even one children's book in their home. We need more libraries as an opportunity for our children's education. My husband and I also are low-income (because I am a teacher) and we don't have internet in our home. I check out books, audio books, and movies regularly from the library and we use the internet at the library (I did my 2015 taxes at the Highland library!) We need more libraries!

Knowledge and the access to it is one of the greatest indicators of a free and progressive society. Putting efforts in to create an exceptional library benefits the whole.

Do NOT surplus/sell the property dedicated for the future library.
Library growth and potential is not limited entirely to tax revenue. The sale of this property to a private developer will impact more than the library and its patrons. It significantly impacts the arts community, educational opportunities, information access, and communal outreach and engagement for Highland City.

We love our library and visit it often. My only complaint is that I often have to wait a long time to check certain books out. We need our library to grow!!

I love this libarary, It's books on cd youth selection is superior. I go there even tho Lehi is closer. Please let it grow!!!

Please do not sell away future opportunities for library growth and education in the arts and community for a meal of porridge today. I REALLY feel strongly that we need build our library so we can be part of a county wide system. That has been my hope since moving to Highland 10 years ago. I am grateful to have access to a library so close which helps foster in my children a love for reading!

Keep the land for the library! After moving here from southern Utah we have missed having a great library system connected throughout the county. Libraries are one of the few things that should never go outbid style! They are vital for literacy, learning and the future of our country. It's one of the best ways to get communities together. Have a children's story time, have community meetings there and let people borrow books and movies and media and share the wealth of knowledge. We need a better library and system. Look at what Washington county is doing for a good example. Our family loves books and passing that love of reading on to the next generation! Reading on a tablet or phone or computer are great but I will argue they are not the same!
