A community the size of Highland should have an adequate library in place to meet the needs of the people. Children greatly benefit from this service as it helps them develop a love for reading and enhances literacy as a priority in their lives.

I would like Highland to have a good library. I wouldn't like to see any action taken that would endanger our ability to have one.

America needs more readers and less gamers. Say yes to libraries, say yes to a brighter future generation of Americans. Happy Independence Day!

The education of our children is more important than the city making a profit.

We, the community of the Highland City Library, petition the Highland City Council to not surplus/sell the property dedicated for the future library. The community worked very hard to build a wonderful library in Highland -- it is a busy place and continues to grow in the services it offers. As it outgrows it's current space, we need the assurance that an area will be available to build a larger one. The sale of this property to a private developer will impact more than the library and its patrons. It significantly impacts the arts community, educational opportunities, information access, and communal outreach and engagement for Highland City. Thanks you

I have four boys under six. We need to invest in the future of the library because I want my boys to have every opportunity for success.

I always seek out the public library in whichever I live. It is a welcome place for learning. I think expanding Highland's would be an appropriate showing of the enlightenment of our Highland community.

I think it's very important we keep and expand libraries. In a day and age where technology is growing and reading is decreasing we need to keep all possible sources available. It's also very convenient to not have to buy a book you might only read once. I love my library and hope to see it grow

We appreciate the library services currently offered in Highland and have hoped to see the library in Highland grow. Although I do not know all the issues affecting this decision, it seems that selling the land designated for an expanded library will be step in the wrong direction.

We want a bigger library. The intent was always for present location to be temporary. Let's keep to the original plan. Do not sell the property. Keep it for the library.

We live in alpine and go to the highland library. Though it is small, we love to go and appreciate the programs. My kids are 1 and 3... I hope to shape their future by teaching them to love to read and learn. The future of the library is important to us.

We have needed a library for years in our city, it would be devastating to lose it.

Why is an incorporated city thinking about trashing their community library? Please reconsider this! For another year I am residing in New Zealand, but still use the services in the Highland Library. Johnn Sterzer

Why wreck a good thing! I have lived in Highland for 33 years and have seen the library "grow up" so to speak. Now you are going to take it away! Shame on you for even thinking about it.

Libraries are one of the most valuable resources the community can propagate.

A county wide system and bigger library in Highland would lead to more people using the library and the many benefits that come from a strong library system.

Highland Library must be part of a county wide system and needs new electronic checkouts as well; If keeping this property allows us to do that than I am for it; is there a way to sell the property and use the money to grow Highland City Library?
