Love the library. When our kids were little we visited the library in our town once a week at least. We want our grandchildren, 18 of whom live in Highland to have the same opportunity.

We have recently moved to Highland this past year. The library where we lived played an important role in my children's lives. We were regular attendees to toddler and preschool story times. We enjoyed all the events the library put on and it became one of our favorite places to visit each week. The library events strengthened our small community. My kids have gained a love for literature and reading from our visits to the library. Moving to Highland, I was a little disappointed with the size and offering of the Highland Library. I would love to see the Highland Library expand and be able to offer similar services for my kids. Having a good library that can provide the needs of its' families and residents is essential for building a strong community!

My understanding is that Highland City went into a great deal of debt several years ago purchasing quite a lot of land all over the city. Why not sell off all of that other land rather than the most central, vital piece? It's already a mess trying to find a parking space at the splash pad, and difficult to get around the narrow streets of the townhouses. I suggest the city planners take a look at the future of the city center. Do you want it to be a community friendly center of city action, or an apartment block?
We moved here last year to escape the high density of central Utah county. I know a senior living center would bring more money for the city, but it's the low density that attracts people to this area. There is a senior living place opening every month in Provo/Orem! Let's keep our wide open spaces.

We waited years to have a library in this community! And such a wonderful library it is! But this community it's growing so fast, soon we will outgrow that space. Do not limit our library growth by selling that land!

We have very much enjoyed the library and would be disappointed to have some other enterprise occupying the property earmarked for a library. The education level of the Highland area is extremely high and the residents deserve a quality library. Sharon Johns

The positive growth of a city is in direct relationship to the educational and cultural opportunities available to its citizens. The library, as well as the cultural arts, are steps in the right direction towards our city's progress. Without them we become just a city of houses and fast food restaurants, instead of a home where future generations can be nurtured.

Please make sure we have space for our new library. They have worked so hard with all they were given. I love our library. They are really taking off right now. Don't take this away from our city.

I was very against library expansion under the last library administrator, but I've been impressed with our current library leadership and would like to see more of the vision for the library to move forward. I'd also like to know more about the Highland master plan specifically for that area. Furthermore, library expansion discussions should involve leaders from Alpine and Cedar Hills as a natural alliance for communities to share costs (since they lack libraries ofntheirnown and would naturally frequent ours). Need lots more discussion and info on every side of this issue.

there should not be a high rise developement in this area. high density housing regardless if it is apartments,condos or senior living should not be part of the master plan for city. this will diminish the quality of life for the residents of highland
