Petition Against the Parole of Warren Paxton Brown
On April 22, 1986, in Berea, Ohio, 13-year-old Robyn Field was fatally beaten and strangled, her body then dumped by her killer in a nearby ravine. Her killer, 15 year old Warren Paxton Brown, was a boy that she knew and befriended. He revealed to friends his plan to kill her prior to commiting the act, then hid her body after luring her to his house where he commited this heinous crime. Hours later he dumped her body with the help of his aunt. He assisted in the search for her body and attended her funeral, placing flowers upon her grave. Warren Paxton Brown was initially eligible for the death penalty but has had the opportunity to build a life behind bars for the past 24 years. He is eligible for parole, for the 2nd time, in April 2010. To release him from prison would be a devasting blow to Robyn's family, whose pain has not lessened in the 24 years since her brutal murder, and to our community.
