To:The Council of The Rural Municipality of Springfield in the Province of Manitoba

The undersigned persons, being property owners of The Rural Municipality of Springfield, in the Province of Manitoba, petition council for:

The removal of Section 2, By-Law No. 97-03; Regulation of the use of rifles, guns and other firearms.
Subject to the provisions of the by-law; no person shall on a Sunday fire or discharge a firearm within the Municipality exception within any area designated by Council as a shooting range is duly licensed by the Municipality.

Why: To enable residents to be able to hunt with firearms and target shoot on Sundays.

This by-law was written in 1997 and needs to be updated to reflect the lifestyle of residents in the RM of Springfield; we have a large population of sports shooters & hunters who like to enjoy shooting and hunting on weekends.
