Dear Governor LePage, Maine is one of few states left that does not allow hunting on Sundays. For many reasons, I nor a lot of other hunters understand or agree with this law. Land owners should have a right to be able to hunt on their land during hunting season, 7 days a week if they want, it is their land. A lot of people work Mon-Fri, so that leaves one day a week they can hunt. Childern are in school all week, and a lot of sports on Saturday so they cannot get into the woods to learn how to hunt. The revenue the State loses because hunters go elsewhere to hunt on Sunday's or for the whole weekend. I respect and abide by the laws of hunting and have the utmost respect for land owners who allow us hunters to be able to hunt on their land as do other hunters, but feel this no hunting on Sunday law should be looked at again. If land owners do not want hunting on their land on Sundays, they could post no hunting on Sunday's. If this law is in effect because people want to be out in the woods on Sunday's with their families, make certain low populated areas available for Sunday hunting. There seems in my mind to be a lot of simple solutions to this, instead of just no all the way around. I know this law has been challenged in the past a few times, but once again, we hunters are asking you to amend this law. There has to be a solution so all parties involved are satisfied. Respectfully Submitted, Maine Hunters
would give a chance for my eleven year old twins to get to hunt more. With school and basketball they don't get much time and they absolutely love to hunt!!

It makes it very difficult for my husband to find any time to hunt. He works all week and half day Saturday. It would be great if he and others in that position got Sundays to hunt.

I lived Iowa from 1992 - 2004. I am an avid hunter and while out there I was able to hunt both Saturday and Sunday. Maine needs to do away with this STUPID LAW that does not allow hunting on Sundays.

I work Monday-Saturday. I buy a combo hunting-fishing license every year. I can fish on Sundays, but can't hunt on Sundays. At the very least, make it allowable in more rural pockets. Maine is losing a lot of hunters/tourism dollars because of this foolish law.

This no hunting on Sundays is wrong no matter how you look at it. Its been so out dated. Also what happened to seperation of church and state? After all thats why the no hunting on Sunday law was there for. Thoe Churches. Its time to change this law and allow Sunday hunting. After all the hunting season is short as it is .
