Dear Minister,
We the undersigned would like to see several of our antiquated firearms regulations changed. This petition addresses one of these firearm laws.
The Current law states it is unlawful
"for a licensed hunter to carry or possess more than one firearm unless each extra firearm is cased or securely wrapped and tied".
As responsible law abiding hunters we feel carrying a second firearm of a different calibre would pose no danger to our valued wildlife resources. It would provide a more enjoyable hunting experience for all. Several other Provinces have already adopted this and show no ill effects from it.

im still waiting to hear back from the ministry but i have been talking to a bunch of other hunters who find the current law just as frustrating as i do. it seems like everyone agrees this change is long overdue and perfectly reasonable for us out in the field.

this is gaining way more steam than i ever expected and its honestly wild to see so many people who agree. definitely feeling like we have real momentum now so lets keep pushing to get these rules updated.

Common sense reform. Tired of these outdated rules that do nothing but annoy honest hunters. Time to join the rest of the country on this one.
Makes no sense to lug around one gun for everything. If im out for grouse and see a deer I should be able to switch up without jumping through hoops

This law is especially counter productive, and useless especially for hunters who have more than one license. When hunting both small game and large game, how is one supposed to use the same gun to harvest both a moose and a rabbit?
