Rita Alsabagh for SBA 1L Vice President
For all of my fellow 1Ls that don't know me, my name is Rita Alsabagh and I'm running for SBA 1L Vice President. I graduated from Wayne State University this past spring with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology.
When running for an office position, the most crucial characteristic is to be open-minded. I am a person anyone can come to when expressing concerns or issues you may encounter with your law school experience. I have a strong work ethic and extensive experience in leadership positions. Alongside being president of my sorority, I was also president of a cultural organization and fundraising chair for a service organization. I wholeheartedly enjoy planning events and serving as a reliable administrator for my colleagues.
As 1L Vice President, I promise to serve as an advocate and represent the Class of 2023 with integrity and commitment. One thing we hear a lot about from graduate schools is the lack of communication between faculty and students in stressful situations. You can count on me to empathize with you in situations where we all may struggle and to speak out to faculty when we feel like we are being treated unfairly. I want to be an active liaison for any class issues that may arise and be a voice to make our law school experience better and more fair than it may already be. I will also provide a strong support system for the President and the remainder of the board in fulfilling any events or duties that you may need fulfilled.
Thank you for taking the time to read and vote. I hope to be able to serve this class and get to know each of you as my fellow colleagues!
