Hi everyone!

For those that don't know me, my name is Rita Alsabagh and I am running to be your SBA Executive Vice President for the 2022-2023 school year.

Throughout my time at UDM, I have participated in numerous student activities and organizations. Currently, I am 2L Class Vice President, Community W.E.B. President, and Women's Law Caucus Secretary. I have gained so much knowledge from those experiences and I truly want to dedicate my time next year to SBA and work on making our next year a year to remember.

For those that know me, they know that I am an optimistic and eager person. I love to plan and attend events, especially those that require outings not involving law school! In anticipation that COVID will be relatively alleviated by the upcoming year, I want to plan and participate in planning numerous events to make up for our lost years.

Alongside that, I want to make sure that everyone's concerns are heard. I know that I personally am not always satisfied with some of the things that happen during our law school careers, and I'm sure you are not always satisfied either. I would love to be an advocate for us as students of this school and to ensure that our voices are heard. I don't want to just run for a position and sit idly by without actually doing anything. I truly want to be there to collaborate, be involved, and be there as a fellow student and advocate to all of my colleagues. I am always open and available to talk, whether that is regarding school or simply complaining about life.

Through my experiences in other executive boards during my time at UDM, I know that I will be able to successfully support my fellow executive board members and help them achieve their objectives in their positions as well.

I appreciate the consideration. As always, please reach out to me if you have any further questions for me! I am always available (because law school consumes my whole life)!

I have spent the last few days listening to your concerns about our experience at UDM and it feels so validating to know we all want the same changes. I am working on a plan to make sure our next year together is better than the last one.

Seeing this level of support from my fellow students honestly leaves me speechless. It means the world to know that so many of you share my vision for a more active and connected student body.
