as a former vp of my own schools GSA I believe it is extremely important for every school to have this club/organization.

It's incredibly important that students have a space to feel heard and accepted. Please allow the formation of a GSA in your school. By having this organization available, you may help save someone's life.

This club needs to exist. If not, we will involve the ALCU.

I was unaware of this...that is awful!! Instead of pushing these kids aside, embrace and help them to feel wanted and accepted. This is exactly why a club like this is so important in our schools

Ringgold School District needs to support this club.It is time that LGBT students are supported in school instead of being bullied and harassed. I have recently talked to a former school board member. She told me that when she was a board member they routinely sent LGBT students to alternative education or other places "so they wouldn't be picked on". This is ourrageous and Board members with this mentality have no business making decisions that effect children.

Every school should have a safe place for LGBTQ members.

Yes it is Ringgold High School in Monongahela, PA. I'm so sorry that you had been treated like this. Your sexual preference surely does NOT interfere with your ability to teach. Things like this really get to me. We're all human, we need to teach our children to see one another for WHO and not what they are as people. Perhaps if more parents would do this then perhaps we wouldn't need safe haven groups like this.

If this is the Ringgold Senior High School outside of Pittsburgh, I was once a teacher there. I could never prove it but I believe that I was forced to quit because they believed I was a lesbian. I am, in fact, a lesbian but that is none of their business. I wish you the best of luck in starting this group.

Because Equality is the POINT at work, school, healthcare, legislation and in every day life. ALL youth need nurturing, support and acceptance for who they are and for their families: regardless of sexual orientation & gender identity/expression.
