People should be able to plant flowers and trinkets as long as it's maintained it shouldn't be a issue

I think this is very appalling and whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed of themselves!

Why is a grave the only piece of land you pay to rent or buy that cannot be planted on, I bet if Tesco's wanted a grave they'd be allowed to build a tiny shop on it with a late night licence thrown in for good measure. Let people plant what they like, it good for them, good for the look of the grave and good for the environment

I find it disgusting that people cannot do their best to make the resting place of their loved ones look respectable. As a grieving daughter I can say this is the only thing I can do for my dad now he has gone.

I think it's awful what they've done, how can you be so horrible to dig up flowers on a beautiful grave for a beautiful girl. How are we meant to express her if her grave has no colour or flowers.

I am absolutely horrified to hear of leeds city council's plans to remove all personal affects from the graves at St Mary's Garforth leeds. I am sure as I do, the family's of loved ones who have passed away, find great comfort in visiting the graves, personalizing them with personal affects, flowers, cards moment etc. All the graves there are kept to a great standard, always kept with the utmost respect of other visitors graves and surrounding areas. I am at a loss to understand the intentions to depersonalise the graves? As far as I am aware a grave plot has to be purchased (It's not free) by the deceased family and is far from cheap!! Surely then it belongs to the family's?!!
