I spent the whole morning drafting emails to the board again even though they keep ignoring my inbox but the stories people are sending to the instagram page make me realize this is about way more than just finding a flat piece of pavement. It feels like they are waiting for us to just get bored and stop asking but my wheels are still in my trunk and I am not going anywhere.

I was just staring at the screen and honestly it feels surreal that so many people actually want this club to happen. It really blows my mind sometimes because when I started this I was just tired of not having a place to ride but now it feels like maybe we can actually change how the county looks at us.

I think that it's unfair that the school board is against skate club when skating requires alot of time and effort to master. It's also a good hobby because it's a full body workout, improves cardiovascular health, strength and coordination. It also has mental benefits but I won't get into it. I hope the best for your club!!
These children have put in so much effort for their skate club. It isn’t hurting anyone, & i don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to do it.
Skateboarding and other individual-based sports are nice and enjoyable for people who don’t like playing on a team. Some people work better by themselves and you shouldn’t punish and attempt to reform for such behavior. Let them thrive the way they know how to.
Skateboarding is a coordinated physical activity that is key to mental wellbeing, building social relationships among peers, and living a long healthy life - not to mention the benefits physical fitness has on getting the good rest you need in order to do well in school.
I know this would be good for so many kids! Let them have a safe outlet and enjoy their high school experience

I think it's wild the board is against an activity that gets folks outside, keeps them active and allows them to build a community with like-minded individuals. Time to rethink what's actually bothering you about a skate club. When these students grow up, their skate habit will follow them and it'll bring them even more friendships, communities and opportunities. Signed by an adult who skates.
