We believe that the Sixth forms at both Rhiwabon and Maelor schools provide brilliant education to its students.
Tertiary College provides excellent education for some but is not suitable for all.
We also believe that the sixth forms at Rhiwabon and Maelor benefit the school at large, and benefits younger pupils helping to inspire them.
Centralising Post 16 education at Yale College would be detrimental to the further education of some of our students.
Rhiwabon and Maelor Sixth forms should be celebrated for their achievements.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the local council representatives to discuss the future of these sixth forms. Our next focus is drafting a comprehensive proposal that outlines the specific educational outcomes at Rhiwabon and Maelor for submission during that hearing.

Ridiculous idea. Kids need that extra support and the older ones setting a good example for the younger years is vital. Keep it local!
My son is at Rhiwabon and absolutely loves the small environment. He would get completely lost in a massive college. Leave it alone.

As an ex Ysgol Rhiwabon sixth former I can speak from first hand experience how important it is for them to retain their sixth form. I would not have achieved what I did if I'd had to go to college at 16. I wasn't ready, The sixth form allowed for a gentle transition before going on to HE.
