Ysgol Rowen is a small rural school at the heart of the community in the Conwy Valley, North Wales. Conwy County Borough Council's school modernisation programme has earmarked Ysgol Rowen, Ysgol Tal-Bont and Ysgol Trefriw for potential closure. It is our strong belief that closing the school would not improve the already high educational standards or save any money at all and we demand that the Council listen to our views and find alternative options.

Ysgol fechan cefn gwlad sy’n rhan annatod o’i chymuned yn Nyffryn Conwy, Gogledd Cymru yw Ysgol Rowen.  Clustnodwyd Ysgol Rowen, Ysgol Tal y Bont, Ysgol Dolgarrog ac Ysgol Trefriw fel rhai fydd bosib yn cau gan Raglen Moderneiddio Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy.  Maent yn awgrymu y dylid adeiladu ysgol ardal newydd ond does dim arian ar gael i’w wireddu.  Sefydlwyd y grŵp yma i fynnu bod y Cyngor yn ystyried opsiynau amgenach ac fel llwyfan i’n llais.  Credir yn gryf na fydd cau’r ysgol yn gwella’r safonau uchel sydd eisoes yn bodoli nac hyd yn oed wneud unrhyw wir arbedion ariannol.  Dim ond er mwyn cyflawni targed Y Cynulliad Cenedlaethol i leihau ‘llefydd gweigion’ nad yw’n costio dim i’r trethdalwr.
