This is a request for change considering core Rainbow Six: Siege mechanics. The request is aimed at the Siege development and community team at Ubisoft Montréal. With this request all signed parties would like (to test) a change in viewing angle and bullet origin. All undersigned parties agree that camera placement in respect with the player model is too low. Instead the first-person view on eye-level would result in the desired gameplay behavior. Everyone who has signed this petition also feels the game would benefit with bullets originating from the end of the barrel of the gun-model. This while taking into consideration the relative position of the gun barrel and the viewing angle and how this can change while aiming down sights (ADS).
The reason we feel this change would benefit is cause by an unfair advantage towards the person peeking a corner. The field of view of the person closer to the corner is limited due to the positioning of the camera in respect to the player model.
DICE LA was able to change BF4 to use this aiming mechanic. I agree not all competitive FPS games need this (CSGO is a great example of one that works fine with bullet and camera origin together), games like BF4, ARMA, and R6S focus on the realism this brings. So far two of those three titles has this mechanic...
