This Petition is to show our disapproval of ISSUE F-001

This Re-zoning, requested by John Gessner on behalf of 88 ACRES LLC would change the allowed land use from R4 to General Industrial. (Waste Treatment Plants instead of HOMES and BUSINESSES!)

We only need 1,500 signatures from people in or outside the Perryman community and RTE 40 Corridor to put a stop to this!

So why do we care and why should you care?

1.The Community: The Perryman community is one of Harford County's oldest communities and an anchor community of the route 40 corridor. Families have called Perryman home since the early 1920's.

We take pride in our community, the close knit bonds that have formed over the generations, the natural beauty, the air quality as well are all a part of what makes our community great. We deserve businesses, entertainment, government resources like the MVA and homes just like the rest of Harford.

Unfortunately, Perryman and the route 40 corridor seems to be slated as Harford County's dumping ground with numerous proposals for and construction of waste treatment plants, dirty burning factories, etc.

WELL THAT STOPS HERE WITH THIS PETITION!!! WE DESERVE MORE!!!

And the environment deserves more as well, which leads to the 2nd Reason we care and you should Care...

2. The Environment: The eastern edge of F001 is bordered by Cranberry Run (Here's a Map), its associated wetlands and there are at least 3 intermittent streams that drain eastward through F001 to Cranberry Run as well. Regardless of any development; to protect Cranberry Run, its associated wetlands, Church Creek and the Bush River downstream should be a top priority. Since Harford County has such a poor record of requiring such wooded riparian buffers an upgrade in rezoning is unacceptable.

In conclusion, this is for Perryman and for the Rte 40 Corridor as a whole!!
