In Solidarity with Re:Vision Promotoras: A Call for Accountability

As a Denver City Council Member At-Large representing these community members, I support their requests.

Two of my family member have work closely with Mariana. She purposely excluded my mother in law from meetings and ended up using that as an excuse to let her go. Along with her bullying and demeaning behavior towards her. She’s a bully who’s pocketing at least 150,000 yearly with struggling family’s in her district. It would be a disservice to the community to keep her in place and allow this type of volatile behavior in the work place.

Re:Vision does such important work in our community and that is why it is crucial to have transparency and accountability from the Board of Directors, while supporting the workers who are actually on the ground doing the work.

Re:Vision is so much more important than one terrible person's ego. They should resign. I support Re:Vision, I don't support bullies.

Workers rights are the same as human rights! No one deserves to work under unfair practices or conditions.

I stand in solidarity with the current and former Promotoras, staff, and community members speaking out about harm caused by the current Executive Director Mariana Del Hierro at Re:Vision and urgently call on the Board of Directors to ensure accountability by conducting an independent investigation, protecting against retaliation, providing a transparent public response, and taking action to acknowledge the truth and begin healing.

Leaders like this need to be held accountable

To the Board of Directors, I urge you to listen to the staff that carry out the work day in and day out. If you do not address this issue, I promise you that it will happen again.

To be treated poorly by someone is a sign of poor leadership values. We do not need more uncaring attitudes in place of accomplishments gained on the backs of others.

Her leadership skills are poor and undeveloped. Investigation must happen.

I am just getting up to speed with the allegations via the Chalkbeat article. Revision was started with much promise and a goal toward correcting systemic injustices. It does not seem fitting to avoid or deny requests for board hearings to review allegations of retaliation, toxic work environment, etc. In this political climate, it is ever more necessary to build an organization that can withstand the times with cohesion and unified purpose. I stand with the promotoras and other former staffers to call for a full board review of the situation and all the allegations.
