Subject- Revision of Wages for VLCC Senior officers

Good Day Sir,

We the senior officers sailing onboard your good VLCC ships, would like to bring to your notice a grievance regarding the wage difference approximately of 800-1200$ from the market.

We believe in MMSI and have always given our full cooperation in all matters despite all the grievances which we might have had. The one and only grievance which has always been at the top of everybodys minds is the disparity in salaries onboard MMS VLCC's and other companies.
Even when compared to other fleet vessel Chemical or Gas, VLCC wages of Senior officers are on the lower side.

Though all the people have been safarers and have sailed onboard VLCC and recognise the additional detrimental psychological and emotional long term effects that sailing on VLCC have in comparison to other vessel types, hence all companies always give a VLCC allowance which is around 1000$ but our company has never recognised this.

Past few years MMSI has verbally assured us that wages will be revised soon and it will be at par with other fleet vessels and other companies. We patiently waited but the changes has still not been made. The last revision of wages had been in the year 2011.

We humbly request to affect the demand of you own seafarers and revise the wages of a senior officers so that we remain morally and principally motivated.

We hope that we are able to put our point across and it will be considered with the management.

In high anticipation that our serious grievance is recognised.

With Best regards
Senior Officers of MMS fleet

The wage disparity remains a major frustration for everyone on board. We are currently consolidating our formal requests to ensure management hears us clearly.

The momentum is undeniable now. MMSI can no longer ignore the collective commitment of their senior officers.

Support this fully. Time for the company to recognize the VLCC work and adjust the pay accordingly.

Long overdue. The market moved years ago and we are still stuck at 2011 rates. PLEASE FIX THIS.
