There are MANY students who do not have the means to so quickly comply w/this sudden and unexpected change. I would ask that the HamCo .school board, PLEASE address this issue.

The dress code has been the same for a while now and changing it so suddenly this late in the summer is ridiculous. Not everyone has the money to go out and buy polos.

Dress codes should not be enforced this year, as it is too late in the school year.
make it enforceable next school year, along with the dress code understood for new enrollees.
button down shrits should be made available along with polos. they are cheap and widely available at walmart. nix the tie!
Freshmen should not be singled out for punishment with the navy blue shirt. any freshman singled out and bullied due to this, i hope the family sues the school over it!
girls should have the same options as boys.
school spirit shrits can be m,ade, by buying a cheap tee, and spray painting the school name on it. if this is not acceptable, the school should be sued to provide the shirts, as they are too expensive for the kids to buy!
if for religious reasons the Muslims dont have to follow the rules, or the LGBT dont have to follow the rules (such as girls wearing boy stuff, and boys wearing girls stuff), then the school should be sued for equal opportunities for all students!

We do not need dress code because a lot of kids do not have the funds to only where certain colors and certain pants

My daughter goes to this school and I'm not for the new dress code....having the freshmans wearing one color of polo shirt is making them stand out to be bully..plus it doesn't make any sense. The t-shirts should be wore anyday not just on friday. I wish ya'll was this concern about teaching our kids then what they wear. Plus I'm all for a dress code for the staff...some I seen look like they just got home for partying...for real.

We should be teaching our youth about individuality, creativity, and educating them to the best of our ability. ERHS, instead, chooses to focus on clothes - believing that if we can put them all in the same box that it will prevent bullying and hatred. In fact, this particular dress code increases the chance of bullying.
I believe we should be preparing our youth for the future - our future and theirs. They are the next generation to take on world problems. So, I ask the administrators...Will this dress code accomplish your goals or breed more hatred in a world needing love and innovation?
One last question - If you do choose to keep this dress code in place, shouldn't the staff be held to the same standards? The last time I was in your school (recently) Mrs. Helton dressed VERY inappropriately in her short skirts, low cut tops, and heels.

This is a public school...not a private one! Stop trying to be something you are not by forcing kids to wear a uniform.

I have 2 students at this school and I think the dress code is too strict. At least let the kids wear school spirit tshirts. And singling out the freshmen in a different color is a very bad idea. These kids are already expecting to be bullied and you're dressing them with the proverbial target on their backs. It is not going to go well and is patently unfair. We should be more focused on the fact that ERHS has such a low overall score in education than in what the kids are wearing. Why has school become standardized testing and school uniforms? Let's focus on better education, that is supposed to be the whole point!

I do not have children going to this school ,however this is just ridiculous , what are the children (we) learning from this, People wake up this is not the correct education, how are dress code going to give a child an education, and as i have read a lil late to be requiring new rules school starting in a few weeks . AND REALLY FRESHMAN BEING SINGLED OUT , WE all know what that brings to mind, BULLING AT ITS BEST< enough said, GOD BLESS ALL THE STUDENTS N PARENTS , NO OFFENSE IS THERE IN WRITING GOD BLESS ,

I am a parent of two ERHS students, and if I had wanted them in a military style school, I would have enrolled them in one.
I find the updated dress code far too restrictive and inhibiting in an almost communistic fashion. When we tell them that any expression of individuality at all is frowned upon, what are we saying?

It is wrong to single kids out. Plus if kids wear the school sponsored t-shirts then it only helps the school and is cheaper on the parents. The polos at least $30 and the school shirts are $10. Do the math.
