Our mission is to renovate and return the Studebaker Fountain to Howard Park. We aim to transform this icon of South Bend's past to provide enriching public space and to advance the beautification of Howard Park.
South Bend Parks n Rec is in the initial planning stages of transforming the South Bend River Walk and Parks. We have a unique opportunity to assist in advancing their vision of beautifying Howard Park and making it a unique, functional public space for residents and visitors.They need to hear from the community to plan which elements will be included in this park/river walk transformation.
The plan is to completely renovate and place the fountain in Howard Park, South of Jefferson Blvd and West of the ice rink. It is important to the Studebaker Fountain Foundation to recognize and pay homage to the industry leaders that were fundamental in the city’s growth.
This fountain will create a unique space for the public to use for day trips, picnics, receptions, and celebrations. Numerous studies have shown the importance of public spaces to bring vitality and synergy into communities and build economic development.

Very worthwhile addition to Howard Park, riverfront, east bank redevelopment, extension of river lights/Seitz Park attractions. Historic city icon!
This would be a great feature to restore in Howard Park. Surround this fountain with a splash pad around it and that would be even enhance the park that much more for kids (and playful adults) who live in the downtown neighborhoods.
Locating the renovated Studebaker Fountain at Howard Park would place the fountain in its original historic location and I support this proposal

This fountain is lovely and it would be great to see it in person. South Bend is coming alive and this fountain would be a great way to tie the past to the future!
