This is an unoffical petition to have Brian Leonards #23 retired, or at least have his jersey retired in our stadium at the Syracuse game. 1. His overall persona exemplifies the turnaround of the Rutgers football program. 2. He is an All-American Fullback. 3. He skipped out on the NFL draft to come back to RU. 4. He holds several RU records and can break a few more before he leaves. 5. He is an amazing person and model student. Common misconceptions about retiring his jersey. 1. Not just anyone/everyone should have their jersey retired - This is not just anyone. This is Brian Leonard. His arrival on the banks has marked one of the most succesful stretches of football in school history. 2. What about Robeson, Kroll..etc..- Honor them in the stadium too..its a travesty that they have no been honored like they should be. If you don't feel that BL is deserving, than sign on for a "ring of honor"
