The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate to Emmaus Catholic College Rockhampton, that both students and parents are unhappy with the Math Pathways program used to "teach" Mathematics.
The aim is to have our concerns heard and discussed and maybe a compromise can be reached.
This program does not teach, it questions and does not explain concepts. Questions are very ambiguous and full of errors.
Students who previously enjoyed mathematics are now dreading it.

My daughter has loved maths since beginning school. Since starting this program she has been having outbursts about the pressure on her (which is completely out of character) and is losing her love of maths. She is a student that has never struggled and still doesn't - She only just received a VHA in Maths but this program is clearly creating a very negative attitude amongst students about maths. Please, this really does need to be reviewed. If a student that has never struggled is having an issue with the program then my heart really goes out to those students that were struggling prior to this as they must be feeling completely lost and defeated.
Maths Pathways is so bad, all you do is sit and press a green button for an hour, you do not learn anything and it just drains you of happiness
this program needs to go, the school is failing my daughters maths education.
Some peer reviewed research would be a great place to start.
My son used to love Maths now he dreads going to class. The questions are not detailed enough, there are many errors.

I believe that teachers should be actively teaching the curriculum and not just supervising in classrooms. It is not appropriate for 12 year olds to be “asking a friend” or “googling for help” before asking a teacher.
