To Bob Schneider and Paul Roche @ Ridgefield Parks & Recreation,
We the undersigned hereby request your immediate action on sealing the tennis courts @ Ridgefield High School. Our tax dollars have been appropriated for this purpose, yet somehow the project keeps getting delayed and put off to the point where the courts are in terrible condition ("comparable to Norwalk or Bridgeport".)
The courts deserve to be your immediate priority. If you do not do it now, the weather will not allow the project to be done until next fall, which means the tennis teams will be forced to play on uneven and dilapidated courts in Spring 2017, and that is unacceptable. We've been put off long enough.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

I have been busy emailing our local officials to get some answers about the repair schedule for the courts. It is honestly overwhelming to see so many of you joining in because I am just one person trying to get this fixed.

Two years ago (when the courts were not quite as bad, but bad enough), opposing high schools' coaches considered petitioning not to play away games at RHS due to fear of player injury. Shameful. The money's been allocated, what's the problem?
The resurfacing of the RHS courts (also used by the community of Ridgefield) is long over due. The longer the delay, the more it will cost to repair them properly.
This needs to be done immediately - the funds are approved. As a taxpayer, I expect that the will of the town be done. There is no excuse for a delay!
As captain of the boys varsity tennis team, I believe that we need new and improved courts
A vast improvement in the RHS courts will reflect how much effort and determination our children put into winning for the town of Ridgefield. Please re-seal the courts before the weather makes it unable to do so.
Please resurface the RHS tennis courts because they are in disrepair.
These courts are embarrassing to have other schools come to play on.

As 5th year Varsity coach for Ridgefield High School, and as a tennis professional for over 20 years, in my opinion, the courts are currently on the borderline for being safe and completely playable - they need to be resurfaced before nighttime temperatures drop below 40degrees.
