BACKGROUND
What an awesome place Cornerstone Charter Academy has become. We seem distant from the humble beginnings as the unfamiliar faces we now call friends and support systems thrive year after year. The momentum of Cornerstone is undeniable and proves we as parents would not have settled for anything less as we entrust this "home" to our children's minds on a daily basis. However, we should never get so far accomplished that we lose sight of the foundation that got us there and what will maintain the integrity of the VISION behind why we are all here.
Our School and Board of Directors began with the brain child, founder, Mary Catherine Sauer (Mary C) and we now unbelievably have to turn to our community of parents and extended family supporters to address an inevitable issue: What happens when you no longer want the visionary to be apart of the vision? You might learn from Apple who fired the legendary Steve Jobs and struggled until they brought him back as the CEO and had to learn that a board managing a great idea does not sustain the success of a company. The execution of vision sustains the idea past its inception and duplicates itself time after time. While CCA has an incredible wait list, growing in capacity every year, and a brand new facility, we must make sure that our board is making sound decisions that do not hide behind those benchmarks. For this reason, Mary C needs to be restored to CCA's board to take us into our next decade plus of success.
So we engage you today to join me in signing this petition to RESTORE MARY CATHERINE SAUER BACK TO THE BOARD.
PETITION
We the undersigned Parents, Students, Staff and Stakeholders of Cornerstone Charter Academy-A Challenge Foundation Academy do hereby respectfully request that the Board of Directors vote to approve and bring back our Founder Mary Catherine Sauer to the board for the following reasons:
Her Accomplishments
* Author of our Charter
* Recruiter of the Founding Board and Staff
* Implemented marketing strategies that genuinely encompassed and recruited the CCA Family we have today
* Developed Cash surplus budgets that enabled the current purchase and finance of our new building
* Advocates for Core Knowledge
* Authored the affiliation with TeamCFA
* Authored Hiring of Acadia Northstar
*Advanced and excels in experience and knowledge of Charter School Law and Governance, operational and technical aspects of a charter school
Her Character
* She is hardworking, principled, strong willed, determined and A SERVANT
Finally, SHE IS THE REASON WHY WE ARE ALL HERE and it is simply time to bring her back to further the success of the school. SIGN AND BRING THE VISION BACK.

I fully support MCS. Her voice, experience, knowledge, and work ethic will benefit CCA-CFA as it was all of these things that helped to create Cornerstone. Our Board of Directors actually work daily to provide decisions and structure that provides our administration guidance to operate and lead our school. Unlike traditional public schools who have an entire set of Central Offices that do the work, our Board does all of that work themselves and for free. So hence, MCS will be a significant attribute. Please support her, she has your best interests and your children's in mind. She has spent a lifetime supporting education.
This is my second year as a Cornerstone parent (1st year with one student) and now with all three of my children there. I have to say I could not be happier with the environment, academics, teachers,staff and everything else. If this is what Mary C created, she should ABSOLUTELY be reinstated.
Is this something she would be interested in? I am all for it but only if she wants to be part of it
CCA-CFA is MCS's dream realized. She belongs on the board of our school. My children would not be at CCA-CFA if not for the reputation of Mary Catherine and her vision.
Mary Catherine would be a positive addition to the board. Her knowledge of charter schools and the regulations for them is immeasurable. Her original vision has come to fruition with the founding of Cornerstone. Her insight would keep the school on track with its original vision. Please vote Mary Catherine Sauer to the Cornerstone Charter Academy Board of Directors to help keep the original vision as we continue to grow.

Support our administration and let them lead us into the future, so our children can ultimately continue to grow in a wonderful environment. ---------Founder's syndrome (also founderitis) is a popular term for a difficulty faced by organizations where one or more founders maintain disproportionate power and influence following the effective initial establishment of the project, leading to a wide range of problems for both the organization and those involved in it.[1][2][3] The passion and charisma of the founder or founders, which was such an important reason for the successful establishment of the organization, becomes a limiting and destructive force, rather than the creative and productive one it was in the early stages.[3] It occurs in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. It may simply limit the further growth and success of the project, may lead to bitter factionalism and divisions as the scale of demands made on the organization increases, or may result in failure. There are recognised and proven ways in which a founder or organization can respond and grow beyond this situation.

https://nonprofitquarterly.org/2013/07/01/rediagnosing-founder-s-syndrome-moving-beyond-stereotypes-to-improve-nonprofit-performance/ Founders Synfrome is a misdiagnosis used against those in leadership roles that often are the visionary and founder of an organization. The term is misused and often points blame in the wrong direction. It is now understood that application of this term has nothing to do with the founder but instead those that attempt to move an organization away from its original vision. This petition is to send a message of support of someone who has experience in charter school leadership that can help our school.
