The committee members have finally stepped down after the pressure we maintained forced a reckoning over their recent selection. I am relieved that the integrity of the prize is being restored because I could not bear to see Alfred Nobel's vision tarnished by such blatant political gaming.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has announced its decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the European Union. With riots on the streets of Europe, we believe this announcement has degraded the principles of the Prize and the memory of Alfred Nobel. We call first on the the Norwegian Nobel Committee to resign and, secondly, for the Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to make representations to the Norwegian Government to ask that such politicised award-giving does not occur in future.
Watching the protests across Europe makes it impossible to look at this prize as anything other than a complete insult to the memory of Alfred Nobel. I have spent the last few days drafting formal letters to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to demand they address this blatant politicization. Silence from the committee does not mean they are ignoring us because they know exactly how deeply this decision has offended the public.

Watching this list grow reminds me why we cannot let the committee ignore the spirit of Alfred Nobel. We are nearing the next milestone and need a final surge to force them to acknowledge our concerns.

It is truly disgraceful that a prize that is revered so much should be awarded to somebody that has no appreciation of anything other than itself!

They have absolutely lost the plot. Nobel would be turning in his grave right now.

So embarrassing for everyone involved. Time for some new management who actually cares about peace instead of bureaucracy.

THESE PEOPLE ARE CLUELESS. Giving it to the EU while half of Europe is burning is a slap in the face to everyone involved.

What a complete joke. The whole thing has become nothing but a political stunt and it is pathetic.

Absolute madness. How do they justify this. The committee needs to go.
