I feel ride share companies would not only help local businesses and those traveling here, but it would also cut down on auto accidents caused by drunk driving from bars. Uber/Lyft/Sidecar/Etc is an excellent thing to have and it would also create jobs, which will just be more local people spending their money locally. It's a win/win!

As a professional conducting out-of-town business in Monroe, public transportation is unreliable at best and severely limits my and my company's capacity to bring more business to the Monroe area. Changing these statutes to allow rideshare companies is guaranteed to increase sales tax revenue as well as hotel taxes. I have avoided bringing clients and companies I work with to the area due to the lacking transportation infrastructure.
