ABSOLUTELY! It's insane that some on the council are embarrassingly so misinformed. I heard faux news already today being circulate about 'lack of insurance'...etc. This is stupidity. UBER and LYFT have strict requirements regarding car, safety, insurance, etc... On a recent trip to San Diego, I was stunned by how utterly convenient it was to open the Uber App, request a ride, pay, and see them arrive on a map. Not only was it cheaper, but clearly this creates jobs for many people needing supplemental income sources. People on our city council are woefully uninformed and out of tune with nationwide trends. Come out of the stone age. For the love God, gets your heads out of the sand...listen, and do what's in the best interest of the public not some minor taxi-cab local lobby group.

My car is broken down right now, and the cab companies around here are so unreliable I might as well buy a road bike.

This is a crucial service for growing our community . As of now the only form of public transportation we have our busses, which are not practical for most people needing transportation . The cab systems in the area are a complete failure, they will not show up, they come late, they overcharge. It is detrimental for downtown and city wide growth that we become a more progressive city and allow this service.

Asa resident of Monroe, and a frequent visitor or local restaurants and bars, I am in favor of ride sharing coming to Monroe. I would go out more if we had this service. The current taxi situation is toxic and inadequate. I have personally been taken advantage of by all of the local taxi companies. Ride sharing brings accountability.
