I do not agree with the motion that was passed at the USD 361 board meeting on March 10, 2014 that statedto not move our Junior Highs out to Chaparral and to eliminate the Junior High Elective Program as it currently stands and put our Junior Highs back in their respective towns and to not bring up where the Junior Highs are located for at least 5 years. I would like the board to rescind this motion. I would also like the board to reconsider moving the 7th and 8th grade out to Chaparral full-time. I do not think this motion was in the best interest of the education of our students in USD 361.

I have spent my week talking to parents who fear their children are losing out on vital educational opportunities because of this abrupt change. It is clear that our community deserves a seat at the table instead of a five year silence from the board.

Seeing this much support for protecting our students' future feels overwhelming because I know exactly how much this education means to our kids. This movement is growing faster than I ever thought possible and it proves that our community refuses to accept this backward decision for our junior high programs.

please rescind. I grew up there and still fully believe that they should have their own space until freshman year. They already have enough on their plate than to be subjected to the older crowd before they are ready.
I do not have children in school. Mine are all raised but I do have grandkids in this school district. Do you people not understand how much money you will lose by not bussing the kids to Chaparral, also they have the room. I went to Attica K-12 was in the same building, no problems only benefits.
I believe that when all the money was spent to update Anthony, Harper & Chaparral a couple of years ago, they should have built one amazing complex and that would have reduced a lot of the overhead for the school district. The money saved could have been used to improve academics.
Chaparral has the space for the JH kids and they benefit because they get more classes offered to them. Plus the younger grades need more room in both towns.
I do not agree with the boards decision, it limits the value and opportunity of our young students. As an alternative for the future, maybe a new middle school is needed. Possibly at the old Lincoln school in Anthony or a facility just like Chapparal, across the street from the high school maybe.
We need to start thinking about children not the bottom dollar
I know kids that were going to be in Junior High next year that were looking forward to having classes at CHS.

Sounds like from what I hear that some on the School Board may have had their own pre-determined agenda. Things like this have a negative ripple affect on a community (School district), both from a morale and financial point of view. This includes both Harper & Anthony. The school board members must start putting education of the kids first, maintaining and supporting quality teachers second, and their own agendas way down the line., because the state is sure not going to do it. If you can't get that done, get off the board and let people that are willing, step up and get the job done
