The unprecedented cancellation of our much anticipated Spring Fling came to be an unwanted surprise to all. Despite the administrative halt on this event, we believe that the Spring Fling should be re-scheduled. Thus we would like to call for a petition for our administration team to reconsider this event. It has come to our attention that the administrative team of SMIS was forced to cancel the Spring Fling for these reasons:
- Creation and publishing of an explicit video for the sole purpose of promoting Spring Fling.
- Publishing of the video without the approval from the faculty and administration.
- Suggestions to sexual and inappropriate behaviour
- Evades personal values and security
Despite the argument posed by the administration, it is unreasonable for the administration to cancel Spring Fling for the wrongdoings of the few. We believe that Spring Fling should be re-scheduled for such reasons:
- Unjust for those students that were not affiliated with the creation of the video
- Takes away senior’s much wanted last memories
- Puts to trash, the efforts of those students that organised this event.
- Consequences should not be held by all students, instead only those that were affiliated with the video.

It is not fair that the ones who did nothing wrong have to suffer for the actions of what someone else did. We deserve to have the ONLY dance of the WHOLE year.

I've been waiting for the day since 7th grade. Thanks to the producers of the video, my dream can no longer be a reality. I was reluctant to go to this event for a long time, but with the support of my family and friends, I decided to put on my big boy pants. Thank you and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. :)
I want spring fling. The video didn't objectify women. It did for men, though. Thanks.
Sleepover at my house for those that need a place to stay. (girls only) condoms will be provided. Even though I have a little penis, I can still be magical in bed. Oh, and I eat ass.

I think it is unfair for the graduating seniors for not being able to enjoy their last dance.
