Request to eliminate research participation requirement from PSY 101 syllabus due to insufficient studies to meet the requirement

Dear Dean Anabtawi,
We, PSY 101 students have a problem with the implementation of one of the course requirement, specifically, the research participation requirement. As stated in the syllabus, we need to collect 5 hours of research participation to fulfill the requirement. However, we were not provided with sufficient number of studies to satisfy this requirement.
The lab instructors keep promising to provide more studies, but they fail to do so. Even if we are offered more studies in the future, we will not be able to participate in all of them due to high pressure at the end of semester.
If research participation is such an important component of the curriculum that it has been made a course requirement, psychology lab instructors should have included the schedule of the experiments in the syllabus and abide thereby.
Since this has not been the case, we request to remove the research participation from the grade distribution and provide us with the extra credit for the studies we have completed.

I honestly did not think this would gain this much steam but here we are and honestly it feels like people are finally noticing how stressful this actually is which is just a huge relief. Seriously my inbox is blowing up with stories just like mine and it confirms we are definitely on the right path for pushing back on this requirement.

final exams are coming up soon and i dont have time to hunt for studies that dont exist
i have checked the portal everyday for 3 weeks and there is literally nothing to sign up for. fix this.
need those credits for my grade but there are no spots left. so frustrating
its not our fault they didnt plan the semester out properly. why should our grades suffer???
This would only be fair if implemented in all PSY classes that require 5% research credit thank you
I dont see the point
no time to participate during the end of the semester.
