We respectfully request that the Machine Learning final examination for the first-year Master's in Artificial Intelligence Extension Program at Addis Ababa University be postponed by at least two weeks.
As extension students, we are balancing our studies with professional work commitments and family obligations. At the same time, AI courses demand a great deal outside the classroom, with multiple projects and assignments that require steady time, focus, and careful preparation. This semester, several project-based courses have been running at once, creating a workload that has been especially hard to manage.
Because of this pressure, many of us have struggled to find enough uninterrupted time to prepare properly for the final exam while also meeting our other responsibilities. The current schedule also leaves only a short preparation period after the recent Robotics examination. With the difficulty of the Machine Learning course and the demands of our other academic work, we believe more time is needed to review the material well and sit for the exam in a fair and manageable way.
A two-week extension would give students a better chance to prepare thoroughly and show their understanding of the course content without sacrificing the quality of their performance. We are not asking for an advantage, only for a reasonable adjustment that reflects the reality of this program and the workload students are carrying.
We appreciate your consideration and kindly ask for your understanding and support.
Respectfully,
The Undersigned First-Year Master's in Artificial Intelligence Extension Students
Addis Ababa University
I am currently out of the city for work related reasons and was informed of the exam on very short notice. Unfortunately, I am unable to return in time to sit for the exam on Saturday. And I would like to respectfully request that the exam scheduled for Saturday be reconsidered or postponed.
